Let me first say that I fell in love with RC. They were cheap. They were easy. We used them in 4 offices and for almost a year and half. The quality was good. They had some poor moments and very few outages. I finally had to switch.
The only reason to use ring central is if you use a ton of toll free time because they don't meter the minutes.
Here is why you should STAY AWAY:
1. Tech support. If you are going to use a hosted pbx, you are going to talk to tech support. Its a fact of life. They outsource their tech support to someplace in asia. the agents are always very polite and english is pretty good. Unfortunately, the tier 1 reps will waste 20 to 30 minutes of your time before they refer you to tier 2. At that lucky time, you will have to wait on hold for 10 to 15 minutes for a tier 2 rep. The the tier 2 reps are very effective but you have to waste 40 minutes to get to one. IF you make a big deal and ask to be transferred immediately they put you in a queue that never gets picked up. I left the phone on hold for 2 hours and never got anyone.
2. Feature set. Its got great follow me features. Its fairly easy to figure out. However, it lacks a lot of bells and whistles.
3. Cancelling. This is where i lost it. I have been a loyal customer for a long time. I called to cancel one of my accounts today 2/3. They would not prorate my service. I had to pay for an entire month. I wasn't planning on writing why I am so unhappy because you get what you pay for. Cheap price means cheap service. However, it is rediculous to make me pay for an entire month for 2 days of service.
